Tomahawk Public Library is holding a “No School Movie Day” Friday, May 5 at 10 a.m. in the library’s community room.
Due to movie licensing constraints, the library cannot promote the 90-minute movie by title or pictures outside of the library. Therefore, families that want to know the name will have to visit the library or call 715-453-2455. The animated movie is rated PG.
Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult or responsible teen.

Show your solidarity with other Christians in praying for the nation, our town, family, children and schools as the Associated Clergy of Tomahawk hosts National Day of Prayer “Wake Up America” services Thursday, May 5.
The theme for the 65th annual National Day of Prayer is Wake Up America, emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name. To further highlight the theme, organizers have chosen Isaiah 58:1 as their scripture for the year: “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.”

Student projects that showcase two years of skills training at Nicolet College will be on display at the Student Portfolio Show from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 in the Learning Resources Center at the college in Rhinelander.
The event will feature projects by students graduating from the Architectural Technology, Early Childhood Education and Graphic Design associate degree programs. The show is free and open to the public.
“It really is the culmination and a celebration of their academic achievement during their time at Nicolet,” said Dean of Liberal Arts and Business Emily Stuckenbruck. “

Skywarn – Severe Storm Spotter training will be offered Thursday, May 12 at 6 p.m. at the Merrill Fire Department training room, according to Lincoln County Director of Emergency Management Jeff Kraft.
In the 90-minute course, attendees will learn about severe weather precursors, thunderstorms, tornadoes and reporting procedures.
Fire departments, law enforcement, dispatchers, amateur radio operators and the general public are encouraged to attend.

The annual Hatchet Golf benefi t tournament at Inshalla Country Club has been moved from Labor Day weekend to May 22. The format will be a four-person, nine-hole scramble. Registration will be at 12:30 p.m., followed by lunch and a shotgun start at 2 p.m. The entry fee is $45 per person with cart ($30 for members).
